FCCLA Qualifies Five for State Contest

Twenty-two students from Goessel attended the District G STAR Events & Elections held at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

State Qualifiers Kendra and Tori competed in "Chapter Showcase Manual," where they presented all of the activities of Goessel FCCLA this year. The theme of their project was, "Hit the Road with FCCLA!"

Tia presented a speech about FCCLA to voting delegates from all schools in District G. She went on to be elected the District G Vice President of Membership & Power of One.

State Qualifiers Alex & Tia competed in "Focus on Children," where they presented their project of teaching the Goessel Kindergarten students about nutrition through a safari theme.

State Qualifier Karen competed in "Fashion Design," where she created drawings for an original collection and then sewed one of her own designs. Her theme was, "Western Chic."

Twenty-two students from Goessel attended the District G STAR Events & Elections held at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.

Goessel FCCLA traveled to Hillsboro on Wednesday, February 16th for the District G STAR Events & Elections.  STAR stands for "Students Taking Action with Recognition." Goessel did very well bringing home four gold medals, four silver medals, and 10 bronze medals.  Kendra Flaming, Tori O'Brien, Tia Goertzen, Alex Hiebert, and Karen Wu all qualified to compete at the State Leadership Conference on April 4th & 5th.  Tia Goertzen was elected as the District G Vice President of Membership & Power of One.
