Superintendent Welcome Letter 2021

Dear Goessel, Staff, Parents, School Partners and Community at Large,

It is a tremendous privilege for me to serve as your Superintendent of Schools, and Elementary Principal for the 2021-22 school year. I look forward to meeting you and working with you during the upcoming school year — and hopefully more years to come. Yes, I was hired in an interim role; however, I can already see Goessel is a special place to serve. I am hopeful my skills and passion for student success will be a good fit for many years to come. I am excited to spend the coming months of June, July and August dedicated to Listen, Learn and Connect with our dedicated Board of Education, meeting many talented students, dedicated teachers, and all the stakeholders in the Goessel community.

My transition into the new role of Goessel district leader has — and continues to be — very positive and welcoming, and I thank you all! My intention from this day forward is to continue to build upon the tradition of “Excellence” that Goessel, USD 411 has come to represent. I desire to be committed to student success in all my efforts. You have my word that my decisions will always be made with our students’ best interest at heart.

Public education, when done well, provides an opportunity to meet each student where they are and move them forward to their choice path of promise and opportunity. As educators, it is our responsibility to prepare our children for this future, to help them build a post-secondary plan that readies them for whatever path they choose to follow into adulthood.

Serving the Whole Child,

Mark K. Crawford,
Superintendent/Elementary Principal
