Volleyball Team Wins Tescott Tournament

Saturday September 20 meant a very early morning for the Bluebird Volleyball Team. They were ranked number one in the Tescott Tournament, so they had to be ready to play at 9:00 in the morning against Lucas-Luray, their first pool play match of the day. The Bluebirds started off well, winning 25-6, 25-12. Next, Goessel had to face Ell-Saline, and they played hard to get their second win of the day, beating the Cardinals 25-15, 25-20. The last match of pool play was against Tescott and the Bluebirds completely dominated with a 25-14, 25-8 win.
Since Goessel was undefeated in pool play, they were able to move on to bracket play. Their first game was against the second ranked team from the other pool, Wilson. Once again, Goessel had no problem coming out with a win, beating Wilson 25-20, 25-16. This took them into the championship match against Osbourne. Both teams were starting to get a little tired, but the Bluebirds were able to play hard and keep focused to win 25-12, 25-13!
Going into the tournament, the team's goals were to go undefeated and, of course, to win first place. It was very rewarding to achieve these goals and keep improving as a team. Congratulations to the Lady Bluebirds!
