Bronze Medal Finalist
December 07, 2008
For the second year in a row, Goessel High School has been named among America's Best High Schools, according to U. S. News & World Report. In a nationwide study involving over 18,000 high schools, Goessel High School was selected as a Bronze Medal finalist. The study included high schools in urban and rural locations, and large and small high schools. There were a total of 34 bronze medalists selected from Kansas. Goessel High School was selected on the basis of their state assessment results, graduation rate and on scores that provide evidence that Goessel High School is “closing the achievement gap” for its disadvantaged students.
According to Superintendent John Fast, “This is a wonderful accolade for Junior/Senior High staff and our entire K-12 learning community, from the staff and our students who work to really create a very unique culture and climate here at Goessel, to our board, parents and community. Our staff truly go the second mile to help all students succeed and our students give their very best.”
