TWIZZLERS, KISSES AND MINTS
Makes for a Tasty Music Lesson
October 27, 2008
First, second, and third grade music students learned about the five-line staff and music notes with the help of candy. Twizzlers were used to create a five-line staff on a sheet of paper, and students could choose either kisses or mints to make notes. The
small candies showed notes in spaces, notes on lines, notes from high to low or low to high, notes that stay the same, or notes in steps and skips. This hands-on lesson was also good for our tummies, because this was one day our learning ends with eating our music!
