FFA News
I have some great news for our hard working kiddos in FFA for the end of this month and going into February. We would be very happy if you could please include some of this on the Goessel HS Facebook page and the district newsletter!
KS FFA SAE Grants--
We just received news that Emily Meier was selected to receive a $500 SAE grant from Harris Crop Insurance, Kevin & Rosemary Harris of Abilene, KS. She was chosen by the KS FFA Foundation after submitting an application to National FFA. She and her sister, Maddy Meier, co-operate a 40 head cow/calf operation consisting of Shorthorn, Charolais, and Main Anjou breeds. She plans to use this grant towards a combination of CIDRS (to track estrous cycles) and Artificial Insemination costs. This grant will aid in increasing the size and genetic heritage of their herd.

FFA ALUMNI CHILI FEED:
Goessel FFA will be hosting an FFA Alumni Chili Feed Feb. 19th in the Ag Shop at 5:30pm. Anyone living in the Goessel area who is an alum of FFA (regardless of the chapter) is invited to attend. There is a $3 dollar admission to sample and vote on your favorite chili, unless you are entered in the contest. If you would like to enter a pot of chili please email Alicia Oard, oarda@usd411.org, or call 620-367-2242 ext. 726. We hope to see you there!
We also have FFA week coming up in February (19-23) and I will let you know the fun events we have planned for that week!
Thank you for your continued support of the FFA program!
