83 POUNDS!

August 29, 2013

Thursday, Aug. 29th, our students harvested 83 pounds of cantaloupe to be served in our cafeteria!  In fact, they are harvesting so much we have plenty to serve in the grade school and to share with the high school cafeteria.  There is more on the way!  We sincerely appreciate the hard work of our gardening coordinator Pam Abrahams, our classroom teachers, the students, all the volunteer parents who kept the garden in good shape during the summer, and Ms Manche who helped to start plants in the green house.  We also appreciate the extra work and effort of our cooks who are processing the cantaloupe, tomatoes cucumbers, squash, pumpkins and more for our kids to enjoy.  Here are some links to learn more about the nutritional benefits of cantaloupe:
