2ND GRADE LEARNS AND HAS FUN
November 06, 2011
It is exciting to be in Second Grade this year! In Math, we are learning about addition and subtraction, place value and many other things. This week, we learned how to regroup 2-digit numbers in addition problems. We also practiced our math facts with some games. WE love games and get excited when we find out it is a game day in Math! Please help us with our Math facts at home!
In English we are working on our basic writing skills such as capitalization, using punctuation and writing complete sentences. We like to write stories and learn how to spell new words. We are learning about nonfiction texts in Reading about animals and insects. In Social Studies we have learned about environments and habitats and in Science about people and places.
We continue to work on our friend skills and need a lot of practice in the area of conflict resolution! We have learned about what a bully is and what we can do to help someone who is being bullied. We are working on remembering what our bubble (personal space) is especially when we are standing in line.
Second graders love celebrating birthdays and holidays. They had a lot of fun at the Halloween party and look forward to the next party! Enjoy scrolling through our pictures in the classroom, garden, and party time!
