GHS Golfers Win Last HOA Title

On Tuesday, the GHS varsity golfers headed off to the Hesston golf course to participate in the HOA golf meet. Goessel will be moving to a new league next year, the Wheat State League, and the golfers have the honor of winning Goessel's last HOA meet. The team shot a 346, four strokes ahead of the second and third place schools, Hutch-Trinity and Sedgwick respectively, who both shot a 350. Golfers on this year's varsity team are Seniors Austin Cooper, Hayden Goerzen, and Tyler Schmidt. Juniors Neal Brubaker and Jake Smucker, as well as Freshman Shane Goerzen, complete the 6-man team. Individual highlights from the meet include Hayden, Neal, and Shane each shooting an 86, earning them indivdually 3rd, 4th, and 5th places respectively. Tyler shot an 88, and got 8th place.
