Goessel Boys Win Bennington Invitational, Girls Set New School Record

The Goessel boys had many great performances to bring home the
first place plaque from the 11 team Bennington Invitational. Going
into the last two events of the meet, the 3200 and 4x400 relay,
Goessel was trailing Bennington by 3 points. Jared Reimer and Laird
Goertzen placed 2nd and 4th with Bennington finishing 3rd to give
us the lead by 3 points. The 4x400 team of John Berkholz, Austin
Unruh, Weston Hiebert, and Craig Banman wrapped up the win with a 6
second victory.
The Goessel girls placed 6th in the meet. They also had many great
times for the meet. One of the highlights for the girls was the
4x800 team of Aspen Frey, Isabel Tomaj, Karina Harvey, and Kendra
Flaming set a new school record by 11 seconds running a
10:23.4.
