Goessel FFA Members Attend National Convention

The Goessel FFA attended the 81st National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Over 55,000 of the 535,000 FFA members attended the convention. FFA members from Goessel attending were Kent Duerksen, Adam Meysing, Josh Booth, Joseph Campbell, Clinton Sullivan, and Austin Unruh. The FFA members attended leadership development workshops, conventions sessions, and the FFA career show.
All members enjoyed the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, with some members enjoying the tramway ride more than others. FFA members also toured the Fair Oaks Farm, a 30,000 head dairy with 72 cow rotary milking parlors, learning center, and cheese plant.
After touring the Indianapolis Raceway, FFA members made an unscheduled stop at a campaign rally in downtown Indianapolis where they got to see President-elect Barack Obama speak. On Saturday, Jared Unrau received his American FFA Degree. This honor is bestowed upon less than 1% of FFA members Nationally. Jared is the second FFA member to earn this degree from Goessel.
