GOESSEL BOYS TIE FOR SECOND PLACE AT STATE TRACK

The Goessel boys track team consisting of 6 boys tied for second place in 1A at the state track meet. It all came down to the last event, the 4X400. Goessel needing a win and South Gray needed to place 6th or lower. It was a close race most of the way. The Goessel boys gave it their all and ran their best time of the year to win the 4X400 and South Gray placed 6th which put Goessel and South Gray in a tie for 2nd place. The 4X400 consisted of John Berkholz, Grady Stultz, Weston Hiebert, and Craig Banman. Other athletes that competed were John Berkholz in the 400M and Cameron Stultz in the 100M and Travis Fensky who was and alternate for the 4X400. Craig Banman had a great state track meet winning the 200M dash, 300H and placing in a tie for 3rd in the pole vault with his best vault of the year and new school record of 13' 6".
The girls team also competed well at the state meet. They qualified in the two relays, the 4X800,and the 4X400. The girls worked hard and ended up running their best times of the year. The relays consisted of Kristen Hoffman, Kendra Flaming, Karina Harvey, and Aspen Frey for the 4X800 and Aspen Frey, Amy Brubaker, Karina Harvey, and Kendra Flaming for the 4X400.
