Goessel Competes at HOA League Track Meet

GOESSEL COMPETES AT HOA LEAGUE TRACK MEET
Once again, small numbers and injuries make it hard to compete for overall placing. 3A Remington won the overall championship with 151.5 points. Goessel placed 11th with 8 points. Good weather did help with individual times and distances. Several girls set new personal bests including Amy Brubaker and Shanna Klassen in the triple jump both by about 4 inches. 4X800 of Kendra Flaming, Kristen Hoffman, Karina Harvey, and Aspen Frey bettered their time by 8 seconds and Kristen Hoffman bettered her time for the 3200M. Individual places consisted of Kendra Flaming placing 6th in the 400M dash (1:04.96), Aspen Frey placed 4th in the 1600M run (5:56.0), Kristen Hoffman placed 6th in the 3200M run (13:38.32) and the 4X800M relay placed 6th (10:50.44)
GOESSEL BOYS PLACE 5TH AT HOA LEAGUE TRACK MEET
The Goessel boys made a good showing at the HOA League Track Meet at Remington on Friday. Many medals and new personal bests were had at the meet. Several of the high lights were Laird Goertzen qualifying for regionals and the exciting finish in the 4X400M relay with Goessel bring home the gold. Other individual places were Anthony Esau placed 6th in the long jump (18’6.5”), Craig Banman placed 1st in the pole vault (12’6”), 1st in the 200M dash (22.44), and 3rd in the 300H (41.2), Evan Hiebert placed 4th in the high jump (5’6”), Travis Fensky placed 6th in the 100M dash (12.03), Jared Reimer placed 5th in the 1600M run (5:05.27), and placed 6th in the 3200M run (11:11.94), Weston Hiebert placed 5th in the 300H (41.75), and placed 6th in the triple jump (37’11.75”), 4X100 relay of Cameron Stultz, John Berkholz, Grady Stultz, and Travis Fensky placed 6th (46.69), and the 4X400 relay of John Berkholz, Grady Stultz, Weston Hiebert, and Craig Banman placed 1st (3:32.77).
